Senior Marketing Associate

AIChE, founded in 1908, is a professional society of more than 60,000 chemical engineers in 110 countries. Its members work in corporations, universities, and government, using their knowledge of chemical processes to develop safe and useful products for the benefit of society. AIChE fosters and disseminates chemical engineering knowledge, assists the professional and personal growth of its members, and applies the expertise of its members to address societal needs and improve the quality of life. Through its varied programs, AIChE continues to be a focal point for information exchange on the frontiers of chemical engineering research in such areas as energy, sustainability, biological and environmental engineering, nanotechnology, and chemical plant safety and security.

Position Summary


The AIChE Marketing team is responsible for the discovery, design, development and delivery of AIChE’s marketing initiatives, working closely with cross-functional groups within the organization. The Senior Marketing Associate is a connector and problem-solver. A team player who focuses on goals and outcomes with other departments to produce creative results and help develop plans and initiatives that consider data, feedback and best practices into account.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and tactics in line with organization goals, in both digital and print mediums
  • Manage projects and campaigns, which support various goals, including membership acquisition, retention and engagement; virtual and in-person conferences; and other areas
  • Support a data-driven culture
  • Be a part of lead generation efforts and segmentation
  • Focus decisions with end user in mind and create user experiences that are positive and on brand
  • Collaborate with Communications team, as well as other departments, on message development and highlight-worthy content
  • Serve as an initial contact for projects and initiatives within the marketing team
  • Research industry & association trends, competitive products, innovations, and best practices to identify and recommend growth opportunities

Skills

  • Strong knowledge in digital and content marketing strategy and delivery
  • Copywriting
  • Background with working with mailhouses and printers
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and prioritize deliverables through good communication and use of processes
  • Build and sustain relationships with all levels of employees and customer
  • Interest and/or experience in Chemical Engineering; Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion; and STEM initiatives
  • Experience working with web and design teams to enhance user experience and interface (UX UI) through messaging and design

Software Proficiencies

  • MS Office products: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Smart Sheet
  • Google Analytics, Google ecommerce, Data Studio
  • Email platforms such as Constant Contact or Informz
  • Social Media (paid & organic) development, posting and reporting
  • Survey tools such as Qualtrics a plus

Education & Work Experience

  • Undergraduate degree and/or graduate degree in marketing
  • 6+ years of relevant experience; past agency and membership marketing a plus
  • Non-profits/volunteer-led organizations and experience with professional associations a plus

Location

  • This position is currently remote, but will be located at our NYC Global Office.
