Technical Communities Consultant

Technical Communities - Consultant

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), founded in 1908, is a professional society of more than 60,000 chemical engineers in 110 countries. Its members work in corporations, universities, and government, using their knowledge of chemical processes to develop safe and useful products for the benefit of society. AIChE fosters and disseminates chemical engineering knowledge, supports the professional and personal growth of its members, and applies the expertise of its members to address societal needs and improve the quality of life. Through its varied programs, AIChE continues to be a focal point for information exchange on the frontiers of chemical engineering research in such areas as energy, sustainability, biological and environmental engineering, nanotechnology, and chemical plant safety and security.

The consultant will report directly with the Chief of Technical Operations, Membership & Business Development and work closely with the Technical Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with conference organizers to develop and implement the technical program
  • Assemble all conference program materials and other initiatives in partnership with the Marketing Department
  • Manage partnership with the Sales Department and requirements for sponsorships/exhibits
  • Develop and deploy monthly webinars for technical seminars with experts in academia or industry
  • Create and edit monthly newsletters containing industry, technical and societal news
  • Manage and update website and conference sites
  • Provide accounting and budget oversight for projects

Educational & Work Experience Requirements

  • Minimum BS degree — ChE preferred, Business degree is welcomed
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience; non-profit experience a plus
